Pain management specialist Diane Salettel created the AcuZ Pain Program to help people eliminate pain, restore mobility and boost athletic performance

From young to old, elite athletes to weekend warriors, at one time or another, we’ve all suffered from chronic or injury-related aches and pains.
With a background in neuroscience, pain management specialist Diane Salettel created the AcuZ Pain Program to help people eliminate pain, restore mobility and boost athletic performance.
“I educate my clients about how their bodies function, the role that pain is an action signal, to alert you to make an active change, how one issue can lead to others, and the importance of not letting pain go unchecked as that can lead to increased long-term pain sensitivity,” she says.
In conjunction with customized exercises, she offers the non-invasive MR4 cold laser to combat inflammation in the body and spur tissue repair by stimulating blood flow and circulation. During the treatment, clients relax on a massage table while Diane targets areas with the hand-held laser.
Common Pain Issues
Diane reports the number one most common ailment she addresses is back pain.
“So many people suffer from low back pain, but it can be difficult to determine what the origin of that is, so I do a complete history and gait assessment to figure it out,” she says.
Sciatic pain and carpal tunnel are other common reasons people seek Diane’s help.
“Depending on the root cause of their pain, most of my clients see improvement with three to five laser sessions,” she reports. The cost is $60 per one-hour session or $250 for a package of five.
Meet Bill and Jackson
Here are a few recent success stories from folks who have had their lives turned around by Diane.
Sixty-something local radio personality Bill Louis suffered from Morton’s Neuroma, a thickening of the tissue around one of the nerves leading to the toes.
“He suffered from this chronic condition for years, would limp every morning from his truck on the way into work,” she says. “We did a couple sessions with the laser and he noticed he wasn’t limping at all anymore.”
Twenty-five-year-old Jackson came to Diane in debilitating pain.
“He had been a baseball pitcher who overtrained and suffered injuries during his last year of high school and could not go on to play in college,” she says. “The Chicago resident heard about my pain therapy from his mother, who lives in Chagrin Falls. When he first came to me, he couldn’t even stand straight without pain. And he couldn’t lift his arm without excruciating pain.”
She started basic right-side vision drills with him to restabilize his balance, since he was twisting to the left side, then used the laser, and gave Jackson some at-home exercises. Between last Thanksgiving and January 1, Jackson’s pain went away, he regained full mobility of his arm, and he is now sleeping and eating normally again.
No Hibernating Allowed
“For anyone who hibernates as a couch potato over the cold winter months, that’s the worst thing you can do for chronic pain or other ailments like arthritis, which can flare up in the colder months,” she says. “You need to move your body to activate your brain so you can function at an optimum level.”
