Planning for a pool? Here’s what you need to know about Imagine Pools selection and installation, from Candyapple Nursery and Landscaping
By Patricia Nugent
Which do you want first, the good news or the bad news?
The good news is that Candyapple Nursery and Landscaping is the exclusive dealer for Imagine Pools in our area, offering in-ground fiberglass pools that are best-in-class. In fact, it is the only manufacturer in the U.S. to believe in its product enough to offer a lifetime warranty. The pools are fabulously designed and maintenance-free.
If you don’t want the bad news, you’ll have to skip over this paragraph and go onto the next, because the bad news is that you cannot have an Imagine Pool installed until 2022. The company reports that pool sales have increased 450% since the pandemic began last spring, and since there have been shortages in their supply chain, they are having trouble keeping up with demand. A lot of the pool heaters and accessories depend on parts that come from other countries, so that’s where many of the delays are taking place. There’s also an international shortage of resin.
Now that the blow has been dealt, back to the good stuff.
Now is actually the perfect time to contact Candyapple and start planning for your ‘22 pool. You wouldn’t want to let it slip into 2023, would you?
Imagine the Possibilities
As the number one pool manufacturer in the world, Imagine Pools feature ultra-durability and structural strength.
Designs range from classical rectangle to free-form curves and spa-pool combinations. They also feature a safety ledge along the perimeter for less experienced swimmers to hold onto or step onto.
Seven super shimmery colors range from Ocean Blue to Reef Blue, Ice Silver, Storm Grey, Volcanic Black, Coral Blue and Diamond Sand.
One of the most popular design elements is the ledge bench, which runs around the interior perimeter of the pool, about 12-16 inches submerged, so people can hang out and relax, without being completely in the water. (It’s like putting a lawn chair in your pool.) This is ideal for cooling off in the water and reading a book or enjoying a cocktail. For the younger set, fun pads and splash pads provide endless recreation and step-out exits are popular with kids of all ages.
Many of the styles also include the option to add jet systems to provide for avid swimmers who want to take their resistance training up a notch.
Bring Your Outdoor Oasis to Life
With more than 70 years of experience as a full-service landscaping design and build firm, the designers and planners at Candyapple Nursery and Landscaping work with homeowners to provide lush and colorful backdrops. They can build new flowerbeds and carefully select plant materials.
The orchestration of bloom cycles allows them to spread the vibrant colors within a design from spring to summer to fall. They can meet any need, such as putting together deer- or pest-resistant stock, or only selecting low-maintenance materials for those who do not enjoy gardening or have a green thumb.
Design is what really sets them apart from other landscape firms. They make each yard unique, with high-end plant materials and crafty placement.
Candyapple even designs landscapes that conjure natural living rooms with a wow factor, like creating a dining area under a canopy of trees. Completing the umbrella of services, they offer mulching, edging, irrigation systems, mowing, fertilizing, and spring yard clean-up, as well as installation of paver patios (including natural stone, Unilock and Overfields), ponds and water features, hot tubs, firepits, fireplaces, outdoor lighting, grills, outdoor kitchens, gazebos, pavilions, pergolas and fencing to keep your paradise private.
For those who like to do their own landscaping and annual planting, Candyapple also operates one of the largest nurseries in the area, open to the public now through Sunday, October 31.
The nursery sources stock that’s a little different than anywhere else in town. Deliveries come in two to three times per week, so it’s always changing. They offer extensive varieties of trees (maple, blue spruce, pear, weeping cherry, birch, arborvitae, Japanese maples and magnolias), shrubs, perennials, annuals, mulch, stone and hanging baskets.
It’s a point of pride that they partner only with Ohio growers, so their high-end stock is properly acclimated to our climate and conditions, perfectly perched to thrive in Zone 5. They admit to being a little picky and only offering the most vibrant species available.
Delivery is available for a small fee. Come in, pick out your stock, and it’ll be delivered to your door.
