Polish your mood
By Laura Briedis
The mood you are in should dictate nail polish colors more than the season. You don’t have to wear more subdued colors in the winter, just because it is dreary outside. If you want to wear bright pink when it’s snowing, go for it.
“I tell my clients when picking their polish for a manicure or pedicure to choose whatever color makes them happy,” says Nickole Nicolosi, a nail technician at Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa.
And she would know. In the 30-plus years Nickole has been doing nails, she has seen many trends come and go. But the one thing that never changes is how a manicure or pedicure makes you feel wonderful.
“I have been doing a lot of reds, purples and blue polish lately,” she says. “But, really, anything goes. And you don’t have to always do white with a French manicure, as I just did one with light blue for a wedding.”
For some fun, you can add sparkles or nail art to just a couple of nails.
Cory’s has always taken extra safety measures in the spa—even before the pandemic. “We use a new, single-use file and buffer for each client,” says Nickole. “Plus, we sanitize all of our instruments in a disinfectant. You can be assured your safety remains our top priority.”
