Shimmer Spa announces its newest skin care products made with gentle, plant-based ingredients, available September 7

Advancements in skincare product formulations have tilted the landscape in favor of those looking to improve and protect their skin health and appearance. For the past 15 years, local organic skincare guru and esthetician Melanie Rongone has enjoyed a front seat at the show.

This month the owner of Shimmer Spa adds “product developer” to her knowledge base.

“To fulfill the needs of my clients at the younger and older ends of the spectrum, who need clean hydration without irritation, I went to the drawing board and handcrafted my own line of cleanser and moisturizer,” Melanie says. “Gentle, plant-based ingredients—lavender essential oil, agave, green tea and prickly pear extract—are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, as well as easing redness. They also help renew skin’s lipid barrier.”

The luscious, water-based cream cleanser lathers into a rich, pearlescent foam that’s rinsed off with water. It’s gentle enough for enhanced lashes.

Both products smell absolutely divine, but Melanie was sure to create a fragrance-free version of the moisturizer for the most sensitive skin types.

She developed the products with the mindset of pairing them with the new Image Skincare medical grade sunscreens with waterproof ratings for a next-level at-home regimen.

“Orchestrating multi-tasking formulas that help people attain their healthiest, best-looking skin has always been a goal of mine,” she says. “I love it when my clients can go without makeup because their skin is already beautiful.”

Melanie’s skincare products join her wildly popular, coconut oil-based Signature Cocoa Pink Soap that she’s hand-made for years.
