Summer parties made easy with Mr. G’s Pizzeria & Wings
By Mimi Vanderhaven
It’s summertime, and that means parties—in the back yard, at the park, the pool, summer camp, at family reunions, church, picnics, graduation celebrations, even in the office.
One way to make your celebration fun, delicious and utterly hassle-free is to let Mr. G’s handle it. The family-owned Italian pizza and wing shop offers large orders for pick-up, delivery or onsite catering.
“We recently delivered 30 sheet pizzas to a local Catholic school summer camp,” says owner Mark Giardina. “It’s a fun, easy way to feed a lot of people affordably.”
Thirty sheet pizzas is a lot of food. Each measures 18 x 26 inches and features up to 40 slices.
Keeping It Cool
“Why heat up your kitchen with a hot oven?” suggests Mark’s wife Debbie, who also goes by “Mrs. G.” “We can handle it all and you can keep your kitchen cool and clean.”
Yes, Mr. G’s delivers thousands of pizzas every summer, but also offers many other popular Italian entrées.
“You’d think people wouldn’t want a hot, heavy Italian meal poolside,” Debbie says, “But they do. People love Italian food and when you’re playing hard outdoors, you need to carb up.”
Mr. G’s classic pasta dishes are popular even in summer—lasagna, cavatelli, ravioli, rigatoni, ziti and spaghetti. Choose with or without meat. “People also love our gnocchi and wedding soup,” Debbie adds.
More Than Italian
Mr. G’s is about more than Italian favorites. One glance at the catering menu and you’ll see fried chicken, baked chicken, salads, sandwiches, vegetable trays and a long list of sides, including green beans almondine, au gratin potatoes, a vegetable medley, buttered corn, and mac and cheese.
“Kids love our mac and cheese,” Mark says. “You can never go wrong with that.”
“The Office is Cool Again”
“During the height of Covid, our office catering business tanked,” reveals Mark. “But it’s back in a big way. People are returning and we’re delivering for staff meetings, training sessions, sales calls, and just to say thank you to employees.”
“Somebody Feed These Kids!”
Wherever you find lots of kids, you find pizza. “We’re delivering sheet pizzas to all kinds of summer camps, vacation bible schools, and pool parties,” Debbie says. “These pizzas are large but rectangular, so the slices are small and square-shaped. That makes them easy for kids to pick up and enjoy. The last thing you want is to spend your time cutting up large slices of pizza for 50 kids on a paper plate with a plastic fork.”
Been there. Done that.
Of course, you’ll want salad. The Deluxe Salad features a fresh, crisp lettuce mix, tomato, cucumber, red onion, cheese and dressings. The Half Deluxe serves 10-15, while the Full Deluxe serves 15-25.
Buffalo Chicken Wings
Why does a pizza joint serve chicken wings? “We have family in Buffalo,” Mark laughs. “Wings are a thing with us.”
Sure, you can order six wings from the regular menu, but this is a party, right? Click the catering menu link and order 25 wings, 50 wings, or even 100 wings. Sauces include Buffalo, Teriyaki, Spicy Garlic, and BBQ (hot, medium or mild).
“We want to be your go-to place for summer parties,” Debbie concludes. “Yes, we’re here for you for football season, holiday gatherings, the Super Bowl, Lent, and spring family celebrations, but summer is something special.”
