Hidden in the heart of Fairlawn, just a few hundred feet off West Market Street, is an upscale furniture and design center packed with fabulous gifts and accessories for the holiday season. It’s so hidden, you’ve probably driven by and not known it.

Elegant and whimsical acrylic trays by Nicolette Mayer feature popular designers like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, and Dolce & Gabbana.

Doug Jones & Company is a stunning treasure trove of furniture, accessories, and gifts. It’s the type of home furnishings boutique you’d expect to wander into on New York’s 5th Avenue, not on Fairlawn’s Shiawassee Avenue.

“We don’t carry the ordinary,” says founder Doug Jones. “You won’t find what we offer at Home Goods. We seek out lines that are original and distinctive.”

Holiday Gifts

In addition to gorgeous, trend-forward lines of home furnishings, art and accessories, Doug—along with associates Joey Labay and Amber Harvey—have filled the showroom with creative, upscale holiday gifts.

Voluspa candles from California are made of hand-poured coconut wax. They come in a variety of sophisticated scents.

“We offer two lines of candles our customers absolutely love,” Doug says. “Nest candles, out of New York, feature sophisticated scents, while Voluspa candles from California are made of hand-poured coconut wax with fun, glitzy packaging.”

This Michael Wainwright cocktailware collection is finished with 24k gold or platinum.

Mimi was also drawn to the Assouline coffee table books, featuring brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Diamonds, and more, as well as chic acrylic serving trays by Nicolette Mayer, which feature some of the same designers.

“Customers also love our line of Jan Barboglio handmade decanters from New Mexico,” Joey adds. “And we’re now carrying Michael Wainwright cocktailware which is finished with 24k gold or platinum.”

This collection features exotic tropical butterflies, each of which has been allowed to live out its normal lifespan on species-saving butterfly farms before being artfully displayed.

But the most popular (and perhaps most beautiful) gift of the season is Doug Jones & Company’s collection of mounted exotic tropical butterflies. “Each of these ‘flying flowers’ has been allowed to live out its normal lifespan on special butterfly farms around the world,” Amber explains. “These farms work to stop species endangerment.”

Despite the sophisticated nature of the shop, gifts start at just $30.

In addition to gifts and home furnishings, Doug Jones & Company also features case goods, custom upholstery, rugs, Phillip Jeffries wallpaper, artwork, lamps, plants and more, virtually anything you need to give your home a distinctive style.

Holiday Open House!
