Most people think of fall as the season to worry about your gutters, with leaves and debris acting as clogging culprits.

But according to Ken Wilson and Anthony Alberino, who own The Gutter Boys, spring is actually the time you should stress about them—as soon as the spring rains start to back up and ruin your system.

For the past 16 years, the locally based, family-owned and operated company has specialized in gutter cleaning, gutter repair and the installation of protective gutter guards, as well as new gutters.

Fifth Call’s a Charm
“We recently had a woman call us who said she’d already had four other quotes for gutter guards,” says Ken.

“Believe it or not, she says we were the first company to show up in a truck, and actually get up on a ladder to inspect her gutters. She said the other guys arrived in cars and took a quick walk around her house before giving her the estimate.”

Needless to say, she went with The Gutter Boys.

“Honesty, transparency and customer responsiveness have always been part of our mission,” says Ken. “First of all, the relationship begins with that initial phone call, which is answered by a friendly, knowledgeable person who assesses the job and sets up the appointment.”

He notes their two top salespeople—Ryan Thompson and Seth Witt—are not even salesmen by trade. Seth was a paramedic and Ryan has a degree in communications.

“They are the opposite of most salespeople,” says Ken. “There are no high-pressure sales tactics or gimmicks. They are just regular, personable guys who excel at treating other real people with compassion and warmth. I’m so glad they are on our team.”

Getting the Balance Right
Ken reports that in the gutter guard industry, the majority of products do not get the balance right.

“The key,” he says, “is to allow all of the water going into the system to run through, while keeping out all leaves, debris and pests. Our guards do not overflow like most others.”

“We’ve seen countless guards out there that have failed for a number of reasons,” says Anthony. “When we looked to partner with the most technologically advanced system made, we chose Valor Gutter Guards.”

Exclusive to The Gutter Boys, these guards feature an advanced micro-mesh design and a patented S-curve design that withstand even the heaviest rainfall.

As a total gutter solution company, in addition to guards, The Gutter Boys also install seamless gutters, custom made at the home, constructed of super sturdy .032-gauge aluminum, which is far sturdier than the industry standard. They are guaranteed to have the proper pitch for optimum water flow and come with a 10-year warranty on workmanship.

Colder Winter Leads to Abundant Spring Blossoms
Since weather is a major factor impacting the gutter business, Ken follows it pretty closely. He reports that this year’s typical cold and snowy Cleveland winter will lead to an abundant blossoming of trees and shrubs. He says the last time we experienced a really cold winter, back in 2015, the trees “went nutso” so there should be plenty of whirlybirds wafting our way sometime soon.

The Gutter Boys is headquartered at 1090 West Bagley Road, in Berea. The company is bonded and insured, and carries A Ratings with Angie’s List and the Better Business Bureau. Call 440-454-7040 to schedule a free on-site consultation and estimate, or visit TheGutterBoys.com for more information.
