“I remember going to prom as a young girl and being pampered, so it is so much fun now styling girls hair and making it special for them,” she says.

Though each hairstyle is customized to the individual, Sam reports that the looser, beachy waves of “downstyles” are just as popular as more constructed updos.

“I also like to incorporate both looser or tighter braids to create a more elegant and dramatic hair design,” she says.
