Before David Brown Construction Company’s customers ever clicked the share button to post their remodeled kitchens or baths on social media, the 40-year veteran home remodeler had a solid reputation built on word of mouth.

Nevertheless, the latest entry in the long-standing Northeast Ohio company’s portfolio, Projects by DBC, a 1,600-square-foot showroom inside Pine Ridge Plaza, lets the work speak for itself.

Visitors to the grand opening on Tuesday, November 15, which includes an 11 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony by the Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce followed by an open house, can immerse themselves in interior design and get a firsthand feel for the company’s work.

“People like to feel and touch things and see a real product instead of a picture,” says David Brown, the company’s founder. “We wanted to put what we do right in front of our customers, so they know what they can expect if we were to do their project.”

David and his team will be on hand to show potential customers the difference they can make in every room of their home.

“Our people have done the work in every square inch of that showroom,” says David. “There are no premanufactured displays that just get screwed into the wall. There’s a connection between the displayed products and the company that installed and crafted them.”

After the grand opening, anyone on their home interior design journey can drop in anytime, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and find inspiration everywhere they look in the showroom.

“The flooring at our new showroom is divided into three areas to highlight the primary floors we use in kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas,” says David. “We have a ceramic floor, one made from LVP or luxury vinyl plank flooring, and an engineered hardwood floor.”

LVP is an option many of today’s homeowners seek because the modern synthetic material is indistinguishable from natural hardwood or stone, avoids scuffs, and rarely, if ever, needs to be waxed or polished.

In addition to its durability, LVP is waterproof, making it as much a natural fit in kitchens and baths as it is in living rooms and bedrooms.

“The possibilities in design are so much more now than they were even 20 years ago,” says David.

The possibilities are endless. After an initial consultation at the showroom or site visit to the customer’s home, Projects by DBC opens the door to a collaborative creative process.

The plain front and squared edges of the white Shaker doors and cabinets are enjoying a resurgence among many of today’s homeowners provide a blank canvas to explore every design angle.

“We can do some really cool things around that because the nice thing about white cabinets and Shaker is that they’re wide open to design possibilities,” says David.

After an initial consultation at the showroom or site visit to the customer’s home, Projects by DBC opens the door to a collaborative creative process.

“If a customer wanted to remodel the kitchen, we’d design it right there for them, and they’ll see it on the screen, and as we’re designing, we’ll walk around the showroom, select the type of cabinet, colors, flooring tile, and molding, and get that into the design.”

The possibilities are endless.

“We have several different brands of cabinets that we carry,” says David. “We have Riceland, a custom line built locally in Wooster. It’s at an affordable price point for a custom cabinet and excellent quality. We can pretty much do anything someone can imagine—any size, shape, style, color, and drawer.”

The company also carries a full line of other cabinets, including JSI and CNC. The showroom allows customers to select what’s right for them.

“Because we have multiple lines of cabinets and every other product that we sell, we can pretty much fit into most budgets,” says David. “We can do everything from a small project and keep it affordable to the highest of high-end projects and give that customer everything they want.”

David and his team understand that they earn the reputation for their work on every job, big or small.

“We don’t use cheap products and don’t cut corners,” says David. “It’s important to me that at the end of every project, the customers are happy and feel they’ve gotten value for the money they’ve spent.”

David Brown Construction strives to bring a craftsman’s touch to every room in the house.

“We’ve done this for a long time and are good at what we do,” says David. “For me, the office employees, and the guys out in the field, it’s exciting to have a setting to display everything we can do. The guys have taken a lot of pride and ownership in what they’ve done at the showroom, and they’ll be there for the grand opening.”
