Everything old is new again, and when it comes to hairstyles, yes, the perm is back.

But what is different this time around is that men are embracing curls.

“We have lots of high school boys and men coming in this year requesting body waves and perms, including three just this week, so it’s in style right now,” says Corinne Calabro, owner of Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa. “These are not the perms of yesteryear but are instead a very natural, wavy look.”

“Men are wearing their hair longer on top and we are texturizing then cutting the hair shorter on the sides and back,” she adds. “It’s very on trend.”

Cory’s hairstylists use modern perming techniques and choose different rod widths to achieve the look you want, from larger rods that result in very loose waves to smaller rods placed in smaller sections for tighter, corkscrew spiral curls—and everything in between.

“Once your hair is permed, you can style it the same way as if you had naturally curly hair,” says Cory.

Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa is located at 7216 Pearl Road in Middleburg Heights. For an appointment, call 440-888-8864 or visit CorysHairStudio.biz.
