Unlike plastic and metal meshes, screens and filters that still need to be cleaned, Gutter Cover Company’s Gutter Topper is a solid piece of aluminum that lets water in and keeps debris out

One of the most dangerous jobs a homeowner can do is cleaning gutters. Each year in the United States more than 164,000 people are treated in the emergency room due to falling from a ladder. And most of those falls are from less than 10 feet.
The best thing you can do to avoid becoming a tragic statistic is to put the ladder away and cover your gutters so you never have to clean them again. But it’s important to choose the right gutter cover.
At Gutter Cover Company, we’ve been installing gutter covers since 1998 and we’ve seen firsthand what works and what doesn’t. For example, in most cases, screens, meshes and filters still need to be cleaned, so they do nothing to achieve your goal of staying off the ladder. Our Gutter Topper system—manufactured here in Ohio—doesn’t rely on a filter.
It relies on science.
How It Works
The key to Gutter Topper’s ability to handle water yet repel leaves and debris lies in its patented design. As you may recall from science class, water clings to the surface on which it travels. This is called “surface tension” and it causes water to cling to Gutter Topper’s rounded “nose.” The water follows the curve of the nose and is deposited in slots at the bottom of the system. Thanks to the nature of surface tension, rain water goes where it belongs. Inside the gutters.
Leaves and debris, on the other hand, won’t follow the curve. They shed from Gutter Topper’s sloped surface and slide harmlessly to the ground. As a result, Gutter Topper prevents damaging overflows, prolongs gutter life, and protects your gutters from snow, leaves, seed pods, maple spinners, oak tassels, twigs, pine needles—and critters.
Handling Severe Ohio Weather
Gutter Topper is certified to resist winds of up to 110 mph (the equivalent of a Category 2 hurricane) and handle downpours of up to 22 inches per hour or a whopping 528 inches per day. If that ever happens, you won’t need gutter covers. You’ll need an ark. According to the National Weather Service, Cleveland’s daily rainfall record is just 4.59 inches set on July 7, 1996.
Getting Started
Northeast Ohio’s heavy spring rains have come early this year so now is the time to get started. Our team will clean, tighten, reseal, and properly align your gutters before installing Gutter Topper. You will be provided with a lifetime transferable warranty that ensures your gutters will be free flowing forever. And if your gutters need replacing, we can install new seamless gutters.
Prevent Ice Dams with Heater Cap
In addition to Gutter Topper, we also offer Heater Cap, a patented heat-dispersing plate installed either in your gutters or on top of the Gutter Topper.
Our self-regulated heat cables maintain your gutters and downspouts at a temperature just above freezing. So when heat escapes through your roof, turning snow into water, Heater Cap keeps that water flowing, preventing it from freezing solid and forming damaging ice and ice dams. The system is safe and is wired directly to your breaker box. You can control it with a switch conveniently located inside the warmth of your home.
Heater Cap can be installed over your existing gutters and over many existing gutter guards. And unlike unsightly, old-fashioned zig-zag wires across your rooftop, Heater Cap blends right in with your gutters and gutter guards.
Designed for problem areas, Heater Cap can also be added at a later date. This allows homeowners to heat just the areas that need it instead of all the gutters.
We’re a local, family-owned company specializing in gutter protection in Northeast Ohio for 25 years—with a proven track record of satisfied customers. We look forward to serving you and your family, too.
