When it comes to choosing a Medicare plan, working with a local licensed insurance agent like Scott McEvoy, with HealthMarkets Insurance Agency, provides an important community connection

Northeast Ohio is rich with healthcare options. “In my opinion, the quality of healthcare we have here is unusual,” says licensed insurance agent Scott McEvoy, with HealthMarkets Insurance Agency. That’s why, he notes, when it comes to choosing a Medicare plan for the coming year, working with a local licensed insurance agent has its advantages.
“I’ve spent considerable time learning what Medicare options are available in this area and because I live and work in Northeast Ohio, I’m well-versed in the top-tier healthcare facilities we have here,” he says. “Many of my Medicare clients are snowbirds, they need to be able to feel confident in their coverage wherever they might be. As a local licensed insurance agent, I can help people research the choices that work best for them and their life circumstances.”
Scott says he creates personal relationships with his clients and makes it a point to learn about their needs today, versus last year, and what their budgets are. What benefits will suit their needs? Do they need prescription coverage? Are there certain doctors they want to stay with?
These are just some of the questions he asks about during a no-cost review. “In my experience, many people appreciate the one-on-one interaction, where their specific needs are taken into account, and they appreciate the knowledge a local licensed insurance agent has,” Scott says.
“I meet with more and more people who are turning 65 and who realize their employer coverage may not be the best option for them,” he says. “I can provide information on many different options so you can choose the Medicare plan option that works best for you.”
Scott is available year-round to offer support, provide guidance and answer questions.
“For me, it’s like working with family,” Scott shares. “The connections I have with my clients and the community are important to me. Helping people feel confident about their Medicare options is important to me. I want people to consider me to be a Medicare resource, and a resource for any healthcare questions that fall outside of Medicare.”
The Annual Notice of Change, TV and Internet
There’s no shortage of Medicare information coming your way, particularly during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, which runs until Wednesday, December 7. Commercials on TV, emails, ads on the internet, mailers and more are all making their way into your life. Scott can help navigate the confusing clutter. He’ll also help you understand the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) you may have gotten if you’re currently enrolled in plan.
“A review with me takes about 30 minutes and we can go over your current plan to see if there have been any changes as well as take a look at some different options so you can determine if making a change will best fit your needs,” he says. “And, as always, there is no cost for my guidance.”
