What do Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk and Definitive Motorwerk founder Evan Croy have in common? Besides a four-letter first name that starts with E, they share a passion for cars and technology.

As founder of Definitive Motorwerk, Evan has created a one-stop shop here in Northeast Ohio, where you can bring in your car for preventive maintenance and repairs, performance upgrades or car detailing—and a place where you can buy rare cars.

Offering a notch above when it comes to technology, Definitive Motorwerk features touchless alignments and mounting/dismounting services for your wheels and tires.

To baby your baby, Definitive Motorwerk offers vehicle pick-up and delivery in its 22-foot enclosed trailer. And as part of its white glove service, every car that comes in for maintenance or repairs also is hand washed using the same products used to detail cars before it is picked up.

“We are one of three in the country and the only shop in the Midwest that has an in-ground Beissbarth Aligner,” says Evan. “This allows us to do touchless alignments without the need for clamps or approach ramps so there is no risk of scratches on your car. This is the same equipment Tesla and BMW use in their manufacturing production lines, so we really are bringing the most advanced technology to our customers here in Northeast Ohio.”

“When aligning your car, more than 16,000 lasers and 4,000 points of reference provide the most accurate alignment, which is way above the industry standard,” says Evan. “We always go the extra mile.”

Evan originally founded the company in 2018 as an online retailer selling auto aftermarket performance parts, but this year he opened a brick-and-mortar store to offer much more. Now in its new 10,000-square foot facility in Broadview Heights, which is equipped with six bays, Definitive Motorwerk is becoming the authoritative solution to all things automotive.

Maintaining and Repairing Autos
Definitive Motorwerk works on all models of cars but specializes in luxury cars. On any given day, you may find a Ferrari 360, Aston Martin V12 Vantage, along with Audis and BMWs, just to name a few.

Whether you just need an oil change or need an engine repair, the expert technicians, led by master-certified technician Kyle Strauss, can fix any problem.

“We just fixed a vehicle that the dealer quoted $4,800 worth of repairs that might fix the issue but were not guaranteed to solve the problem, so the car owner brought it here for a second opinion, and we diagnosed that an alternator issue caused a blown fuse and were able to fix it for a couple hundred dollars,” says Josh Steadman, general manager. “Our technicians are experienced in fixing hard-to-find issues.

“We are honest and transparent in all we do and send customers a report with photos of what we find, along with recommendations and pricing.”

It’s all in the Details
Being obsessive is a good thing when it comes to car detailing. And at Definitive Motorwerk, the technicians are meticulous. From washing your car to restoring oxidized and damaged paint, the company offers a complete line of detailing services, including Gyeon car care products and ceramic coatings.

Evan, who became passionate about cars when he was just 10 years old helping his dad work on a BMW project car, enjoys detailing cars.

“No cars leave here before they pass two or three sets of eyes, including the customer’s,” says Evan. “We make sure that every car detailing lives up to—and beyond—the customer’s expectations.”

Running at Peak Performance
From the street to the track, Definitive Motorwerk offers a full line of performance upgrades from tuning to suspension.

Car enthusiasts are always looking for ways to make their car unique, as it’s an extension of themselves—their taste.” says Evan. “We take time to get to know our clients on a personal level and learn what they are trying to accomplish so we can help them choose the best performance upgrades, whether to improve the look or performance of the vehicle with Signature Wheels, an engine horsepower upgrade, or a new exhaust and suspension.”

Purist Enthusiast Cars for Sale
As the fourth pillar of its business, the company sells rare purist vehicles.

“We track down cars that are not modified and in their original stock condition with low miles,” says Josh. “We always have a handful of these low-mileage purist vehicles in our facility. Last month, we had a BMW M5 in excellent shape and an Audi S4 that was 20 years old in pristine condition.”

“Buying and selling purist vehicles is part of what we do, as we love bringing cars back to life and supplying them to other car enthusiasts,” says Evan.
