Timing is everything. And thanks to perfect timing, the owners of Vintage Hollow, Antiques on the Square and Collective Rose have created every shopper’s dream right here on Chardon Square. These four women have a history in this community, share a passion for helping others find unique items, and have recently combined their efforts to make Chardon Square the place to find something special or just spend the day browsing.
Do you love finding unique things with a history and stories to tell? You’ll find a lot of that at Vintage Hollow. Recently, Vintage Hollow has expanded to include Chardon’s beloved antique shop for more than 40 years, Antiques on the Square.
“Early in 2022, I decided to sell the building at 101 Main St., the home of my store, Antiques on the Square,” owner Pat Martin says. “I could say I retired, but I still dabbled in antiques. Karen Miller and Meghan Connolly, owners of Vintage Hollow, offered me a space in their shop, which I quickly grabbed, and Erica Mitchell, owner of Collective Rose, took my old space.”
Talk about timing. Everyone involved was ready to make the moves to create the Vintage Hollow, Antiques on the Square and Collective Rose shopping experience.
“Meghan and I were thrilled to welcome Pat to Vintage Hollow,” Karen says. “Everyone who misses Antiques on the Square should know Pat is now offering her finds right here at Vintage Hollow.”
Pat describes her original Antiques on the Square shop as “eclectic,” offering furniture, housewares, artwork and more. But her passion is jewelry.
“There’s something about finding an old piece, knowing that it has a story, and now it will become part of your story,” Pat says. “That’s what’s truly special about what we all do.”
Pat joins seven other vendors at Vintage Hollow’s promenade-style space.
“Each of our vendors is its own small, local business, and we all support each other,” Meghan says. “From boho chic to traditional, even kitschy, you’ll find your style at one of our shops.”
After you’ve strolled through Vintage Hollow, it’s time to freshen up your wardrobe at Collective Rose.
“I started selling clothing online in 2019 and had limited inventory in my home,” Erica says. “I was styling people, doing pop-ups and always keeping my eye out for the right space to open a store.”
There’s that timing thing again. The space above Antiques on the Square became available and Erica jumped at it.
“It turned out to be more space than I needed,” Erica says. “So, again, the timing was perfect when Pat closed her store. It’s a smaller space right next to Vintage Hollow. It’s the perfect situation for all of us.”
Collective Rose carries contemporary clothing and accessories in store and online. Erica also hosts pop-ups to help small, local businesses show off their products, like jewelry, candles, florals and more.
“I love supporting others in their dreams,” Erica says. “I call my clients ‘roses’ because, like the flower, they are all unique and beautiful.”
Better together, the women of Vintage Hollow, Collective Rose and Antiques on the Square have created something special on Chardon Square.
