“Our dream of putting a team of wellness practitioners together in a medi-spa environment came true when we were offered an expanded space on the second floor of a charming white clapboard home.” —Elaine Nelson, who owns Cosmetic Laser Medi-Spa along with her husband Rocky

Cosmetic Laser Medi-Spa in Mentor offers emerging technologies in everything from laser hair removal to facials and microdermabrasion, massage, microblading and hair restoration through platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy—all in a dreamy spa environment with a laid-back vibe.

Located on the second floor of a stately converted century home on Mentor Avenue, Cosmetic Laser Medi-Spa includes a main consultation room, spacious spa suite, and skin studio for facials and microblading. The décor is vibrant and eclectic, with a color palette ranging from ocean blue to bright pink, neon orange and electric green.

Treating Face and Body
With a medical background as a respiratory therapist and a licensed cosmetic therapist, making sure all the services they specialize in are medically sound is important to Elaine. She partners with Dr. Robert Salamon, who is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery, to offer laser hair removal, as well as Botox and Juvederm filler, spider vein and mole removal.

For further facial esthetic enhancement, master microblader Lina Hughes creates stunning, natural-looking eyebrows by implanting pigment into the skin. She artistically mimics the look of fine hairs and creates definition and shape that lasts for three to five years.

Turning Back the Clock with Medical Grade Skin Care
Under the direction of Esthetician Christine Steadman, the skin department focuses on therapeutic custom-blended anti-aging facials, peels and treatments. The goal is to rejuvenate skin, detox skin cells and improve texture and tone. She also does a Body Polish service, which includes a stimulating dry brushing, relaxation massage and essential oils.

The Medi-Spa offers Image Skin Care products, which are organic and medical grade, so clients can boost the results at home of any service at the spa.

Massage Releases Tension in Muscles and Joints
As an exercise physiologist, licensed massage therapist, retired professor of exercise physiology, and owner of a fitness and massage studio in Painesville, Rocky Nelson draws from a broad background.

Along with a team of massage therapists, they perform several types of massage, from Swedish to relaxation, hot stone and aromatherapy. Each service is customized to the person on the table, whether it’s athletes who want deeper tissue work to reach their aching muscles and joints, or a relaxation massage to ease tension.

The spacious massage studio is perfectly suited to couples massage, which is a specialty here. Two side-by-side massage tables are aligned underneath skylights in the beach-themed suite, complete with starfish, sand dollars and seascape photography on the walls.

Helping People on their Journey
For the past 14 years, Elaine has worked in synch with the transgender community as a Transgender Gender Reassignment Surgery (GRS) Specialist, helping them with the hair removal part of their journey.

Working with endocrinologists, psychiatrists and surgeons at local hospitals, she customizes a plan for each client, blending laser removal for dark hair, with electrolysis for lighter hairs, on both face and body. Elaine also features a transgender blog on her site with helpful information.
