Podiatrist Danielle L. Shaper, DPM, founded Finesse Footcare in Lyndhurst to offer the latest treatment technologies for foot and ankle pain. She believes in working with each patient to develop a plan to address all of his or her needs.
Dr. Shaper can perform forefoot surgery and bunion surgery, as well as treat toenail fungus and remove warts. Other specific conditions include:

Through digital X-rays, she can provide better care by basing it on the most accurate picture of what’s going on with the foot. Another example of cutting-edge technology is the Microdrilling procedure to treat toenail fungus. She makes tiny holes in the nail plate to allow topical medications to get to the nail fungus and heal it. This takes the place of lasers, which are not always effective, and oral medications, which can have adverse side effects.
The practice also specializes in treating those with diabetic foot care needs, pediatric foot care and sports injuries. As a dancer herself, Dr. Shaper understands how hard-working and prone to injury feet can be. She’s earned a reputation for treating other dancers’ feet in the area and helping them get back to the barre as soon as possible.
Custom-made Orthotics are shoe inserts that correct an irregular walking gait and cushion the feet. Finesse Footcare offers Forward Motion 3D custom insoles, prepared via digital scans (no more messy plaster molds). The goal is to prevent injury and pain relief by properly cushioning the foot.
