Dan’s Wholesale Carpet & Flooring is taking Northeast Ohio by storm

Over the years, Dan’s Wholesale Carpet & Flooring has become a staple of Stark County by offering low flooring prices from its location on Cherry Road in the center of Massillon. But in the past year, it’s grown at lightning speed.
Since last summer, the company known for the slogans “Nobody beats wholesale” and “We take the boring out of flooring” has expanded in every geographical direction from its roots in Massillon. With new stores open in Fairlawn, Dover, and a new “Superstore Showroom” on Whipple Avenue in Canton, Dan’s Wholesale Carpet & Flooring now has four locations in three counties.
And they show no signs of slowing down.
Coming from a family with over 40 years of experience in carpet and flooring, owner Daniel Beers II sees his company’s success in Stark County as an opportunity to offer low prices on a huge in-stock inventory of carpet and flooring to a wider audience throughout Northeast Ohio, including at the new Fairlawn store. Expanding to a densely populated area like Fairlawn, Daniel says, allows the company to be accessible to more homeowners and continue to offer high-quality products at the low prices they’ve become known for—thanks to an increase in buying power.
Dan’s Wholesale Carpet & Flooring’s strong buying power is due to the wide selection of flooring products it offers to builders and consumers. As many homeowners have begun to shift from carpet to various types of hard surface flooring, Dan’s has expanded its product selection to meet those changing customer preferences. That’s why they stock not only carpet and hardwood flooring, but also tile flooring, rubber flooring, laminate flooring, and luxury vinyl planking, which is engineered to look like hardwood flooring, but is 100% waterproof.
And that product selection continues to grow. Enhancing the product selection to include more aspects of home improvement—and moving into a more populated area like Canton—is something owner Daniel Beers II sees as a key next step for the company.
“As we continue to grow, we’re focused on expanding farther from our roots in the Massillon area,” Dan says. “We’re already established in Massillon; we’re known in the Massillon community as the place to go when you’re shopping for new flooring. Now, with stores recently opening in Fairlawn and at our Superstore Showroom in Canton, we hope to become the go-to place for flooring in the Akron and Canton communities as well. And as we prepare to open in North Royalton, it’s a good opportunity to tap into another new market.”
Dan points to the early success he’s seen at the Fairlawn store—located on Rothrock Road in Montrose, just off I-77—as a big influence on his decision to continue expanding north. He also points out the importance of location when moving into a new area. “Similar to the Fairlawn location, the North Royalton store will be located just off a major interstate,” he says. “In this case, it’s I-80. By making the locations easy to access, we’re able to attract customers from a wider radius.”
If the new locations are still too difficult for customers to reach, Dan’s offers an in-home shopping program that brings the showroom to your house so you can see exactly how various selections will complement your existing interior design.
“Once the customer chooses the product they want, they can schedule a crew to come to their home to measure and install, as soon as the next day depending on availability,” Dan adds.
