Just in time to clean away the dirt and grime on our cars—especially the road salt spread on the streets when the temperatures plummet—Splash Car Wash has rolled out a whole new wash experience in Fairlawn, with upgrades in Green soon to follow.

Spread over five acres, the Fairlawn car wash mecca attracts customers from neighboring cities who travel to Splash for an unsurpassed wash experience. At the cornerstone is a wash tunnel equipped with the latest technology that meticulously washes your vehicle, moving it through on an upgraded, innovative belt system.

The new wash tunnel opened in November 2019 and a new, cutting-edge express interior cleaning tunnel, which is being built parallel to the car wash tunnel, is projected to open in the summer of 2020.

Splash Car Wash opened in Fairlawn in 2015 and added a second location in Green in 2017.

“We are finalizing the updates this month to the Green location to include many of the same amenities and upgrades that the Fairlawn location features,” says Joe Mallo, who, along with his father, John, and brother, JJ, is part of the locally owned and operated family business.

As part of a major Splash Car Wash expansion by the Mallo family, the new wash tunnel in Fairlawn opened in November 2019.

Both Splash locations feature high-pressure water nozzles, Neoglide material, foamy detergents and protecting agents to clean vehicles effectively with newly installed equipment.

A third drying arch with a double flash dryer is projected to be installed at both locations, concluding the wash experience with impressive drying power that’s designed to give your vehicle that pristine finishing touch.

For sparkling results there is a new frictionless turbo blow drying system at the end of the Splash Car Wash tunnel.

New Car Wash Tunnel
Splash Car Wash in Fairlawn will feature three separate tunnels for washing the outside of your car, cleaning the interior, and polishing the exterior. There are 30-plus vacuum stations where you can clean out the inside of your car yourself.

The new wash tunnel is 175 feet long, featuring a new and improved innovative conveyor system that allows customers to effortlessly drive onto the wide belt.

The grand entrance features an automated system that preps your vehicle to be washed with 360-degree coverage. At the end is a new frictionless turbo blow drying system.

With a bright red and blue color scheme and fun vibe, the new tunnel has a wall of windows on the west side and a curved glass roof allowing light to stream in, making it feel less claustrophobic and more open for your comfort.

“Splash recently reduced the pricing on all packages, and we now offer a fourth wash level and wash package tier, The Tsunami,” says Joe, noting that the monthly package details and pricing are displayed on signage when you pull up to the wash.

One of the options is a robust double undercarriage flushing, which can help remove road salt and sludge off your car, along with a Rustite rust inhibitor.

Splash Car Wash features high-pressure water nozzles, Neoglide material, foamy detergents and protecting agents to clean vehicles effectively with newly installed equipment.

“If you wash your car a minimum of three times per month under the same wash tier, you’re saving time and money, versus purchasing three regularly priced individual washes,” says Joe. “And during the snowy winters, you’re likely to wash your car a lot more often than that—sometimes every day.”

Express Interior Cleaning
Currently under construction, a separate tunnel is being built that will focus on the inside of your car, cleaning carpets, upholstery, seats, dashboard, center console, windows, door jambs and trunk.

Your vehicle will be loaded onto a conveyor belt where the Splash team will thoroughly clean the interior as it travels through the tunnel. They’ll hand over your finished product at the end, in approximately 10 to 12 minutes from start to finish.

The Finishing Touches
The proposed renovation will turn the original tunnel into a polishing tunnel in the spring, but in the meantime it will be open for overflow washes to mitigate the lengthy lines during salt season.

Once the proposed interior cleaning and polishing tunnels are constructed in 2020, interior cleaning and polishing will be available as an add-on service that you can choose at the point of entry. Every wash or package includes access to the “Rolls Royce” of vacuuming—high-power vacuums designed to get your vehicle to a higher level of clean—for those who want to clean out their own interiors.

In addition to the original vacuum stations, new ones have been built skirting the new car wash area. The newly upgraded vacuum stations feature two different nozzles per side, so you can easily access both as needed, depending on if you are cleaning a larger area like the carpet or need a smaller device to get into the tiny crevices.

Even with all the high-tech touches, Splash still offers personable customer service, with a kiosk area where customers will be greeted and their needs can be met in an efficient manner, all from the convenience of their vehicle.

“The Splash Car Wash locations are two of the area’s premier car washes,” Joe says. “When you pull onto our premises, not only are our properties immaculate, your car will come out exceptionally clean as well. We take pride in offering our services at a great value while using the latest and greatest in vehicle cleaning technology.”
